E-Votional to Strengthen your Roots

Here is an article written by Ed Young Ministries EVotionals. We hope this will help strengthen your roots in Christ today.
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
Colossians 2:6-7
We all want to be firmly planted, to have roots and be well established in our lives. As we grow, these roots need nourishment. They reach deep into the soil of our lives and absorb whatever food that we supply.
If our roots have a constant diet of negativity or envy, we’ll eventually find every area of our lives malnourished, lacking contentment and strength. Our frail support structure will lose its substance and depth, causing us to crumble under the slightest strain.
But once we receive Christ, we find ourselves living in the rich soil of His guidance. And as He continues to feed us, our roots will not only grow stronger and deeper, but also our hearts will begin to overflow with thankfulness and joy.
If you feel like you could be uprooted at any moment, consider your soil. Are you in a wasteland, trying to plant your roots in things that don’t really matter? If so, transplant your life to an area where you can feed on things of substance and value. Surround yourself with the strength and nourishment that only God can provide. And discover a life that comes from having deep, strong roots.
A Prayer for Today
Dear Lord, Help me not to place my roots in things that have no value in this world. Instead, help me to stay firmly planted in the Your Word so that my roots will be deeply established in You, and overflowing with thankfulness. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
