Find a "secret place" and spend time praying to God.

Get a journal or notebook to write down your prayers, and write down what you feel God is saying and revealing.

Download a worship song or album this week.

Think of ways to honor and worship God this week that have nothing to do with music. Choose to do one of those things as an act of worship.

Ask your Get Rooted group leader about Communion.

Ask your Get Rooted group leader about a Bible study.

Pursue God relentlessly on this epic movement by connecting with a local congregation at least once a week (such as a Sunday morning service).

Find out if your church has a membership program, and sign up for it.

Help your parents and family with a task without being asked.

Ask your pastor and/or youth pastor where you can serve, and make a commitment

Share your story with a few people this week, and then share God's story. Write your testimony of how God has changed your life, and post it on the social network website of your choice (Facebook, Twitter, or MySpace).

Write down the names of people who aren't yet Christians, and pray for them.

If you choose to be a giver, give in the church offering. Remember all Jesus gave for us. Think of things that you can do to make money to give!

Buy a stranger a meal or a gift card.

Write someone a letter or e-mail telling them you love them and share your story or God's story.

Take time to pray this week and examine your heart to see if you have unforgiveness. If so, write down your thoughts to God and ask him to help you.

Do you need to ask someone for forgiveness or ask God for forgiveness of sins? If so, go to God or to that person and seek forgiveness.

Look for areas to prune this week to honor God more in your life.

Make a list of things that will help you grow spiritually and develop an action plan to live out this list you created (such as music, web, TV, activities that can help you grow).

Pray that God will give you a mentor to help you Get Rooted in Jesus even deeper. Looking for someone at church could be a great place to start.

When you find someone, start meeting once a month—be persistent yet respectful of this person's time.

Consider getting your pastor's approval before beginning this mentor friendship.

When you meet, be organized and have a notebook with some questions—and listen. Remember: God gave us two ears and one mouth. Listen twice as much as you talk.

Read 1 Timothy in the Bible and see how Paul spoke to Timothy. See yourself as Timothy and let God reveal things to you.
